INTERVENTION SERVICES
Getting someone you love the help they need can be difficult. After all, addiction is destructive – not just for the person using drugs and alcohol, but also for the family and friends who are close to the addict. Understanding that it is a physically, emotionally, financially taxing process, McAlister Institute’s intervention services are built on compassion and empathy, evidence-based practices, and more than 40 years of experience with treatment and recovery.
Our team of licensed professionals work with families and loved ones to develop an individualized intervention plan to help individuals get professional help for a substance abuse and/or co-occurring mental health issue. Each individual is different, and addiction is a complex disease, so our experienced team looks at the big picture and then tailors the intervention approach depending on drug of choice, family relationships, age, location, and other key dynamics.
Taking into consideration all of the factors, a typical timeline includes:
- One-on-one telephone call with licensed therapist
- Pre-intervention counseling and evaluation
- Individualized plan
- Family consultation to prepare for intervention
- Intervention
- Access to McAlister Institute’s 25 programs, including transportation to treatment if appropriate
- Post-intervention family counseling
- Ongoing support
