McAlister Institute joins the San Diego community each year to bring help and hope to thousands of individuals and families impacted by addiction at their Annual 5K Walk for Sobriety.
The Walk for Sobriety has grown in success since its inception in 2012, raising thousands of dollars for substance abuse treatment and support services at McAlister Institute. It has also become a symbol for hope and a celebration of recovery – an opportunity to join hands to give a voice to the millions of Americans braving the unforgiving cycle of addiction, to honor loved ones lost to drugs and alcohol, to break the stigma and build support, and to raise critical funds that ensure McAlister Institute’s 24 programs can continue to provide life-saving services to those who need them most.
Walkers and online supporters continue to help increase awareness and support the power of recovery by sharing the number of days they – or their loved ones – have clean and sober and what it means to them.
